Tears…

“But there was no need to be ashamed of tears, for tears bore witness, that man had the greatest of courage, the courage to suffer” - Viktor Frankl in Man’s Search for Meaning

While in graduate studies, I had the fortune of learning in depth about a courageous man who despite losing his entire family (mom, dad, brother and wife) who died in Nazi concentration camps, helped others find meaning in their suffering at Theresienstadt and Auschwitz concentrations camps. As a professional at the time, he had the courage to suffer to help others find meaning in their suffering and organized a suicide watch. He was an inspiring force of hope for my work with the traumatized clients for which I have developed a passion.

Though I have not endured the horrors of mass genocide, or religious and physical discrimination, I have endured extreme losses, much like Viktor Frankl, and those losses inspired me to find meaning in the suffering as well, to come out on the other end with hope not only in self, but in humanity, and to provide an inspiration for my clients through exploring the idea of logos (symbols-meaning).
